Karnataka: Bharat Biotech’s New Plant At Kolar To Produce Five Crore Covaxin Doses Per Month From August

Bharat Biotech will be manufacturing close to four-five crore doses of Covaxin on a monthly basis by August-end in its Kolar plant in Karnataka that is under construction currently.
Karnataka state’s health minister Dr K Sudhakar confirmed this development as he claimed to have gotten assurance of the same from the company’s founder Dr Krishna Ella, his daughter Dr Jala Ella and the rest of the concerned team.
In fact, Dr Ella along with the rest of the directors of the company have also guaranteed the minister that the vaccines will be supplied to Karnataka at the earliest.
“Dr Ella has assured me that their facility at Malur in Kolar will be able to produce one crore vaccines by June- end. By July-end it will be by two to three crores, and their target by August-end is four crore to five crore vaccine doses,” Dr Sudhakar was quoted in a report by The Economic Times.
The BJP leader even pointed out that Bharat Biotech’s manufacturing facility in Hyderabad can produce one crore doses Covid vaccines in a month whereas the Karnataka unit will be shelling out an exponentially higher number of doses starting from August this year.
