Over a year after he had to resign from Chief Minister’s post after failing to garner support of MLAs for the trust vote in the Karnataka assembly, Bharatiya Janata Party's senior leader BS Yeddyurappa is all set to be the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time.

Yeddyurappa on Friday morning (26 July) reached Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s residence to stake claim to form the state government. He is all set to take oath at 6 PM today.

As per the trust vote in the state assembly, which led to Kumaraswamy led JD(S)-Congress government’s downfall, the BJP has a support of 105 MLAs, while the opposition’s number stood at 99, due to mass rebellion among its ranks.

Soon after the end of Kumaraswamy’s reign, the BJP had made its intention clear to form the government, with Yeddyurappa promising the people of Karnataka that a new era of development would be ushered into the state.
