Karnataka CET For Engineering Courses To Now Be Conducted Online, Announces State Education Minister

The Karnataka government on Wednesday (10 January) announced that it would now conduct its engineering entrance test online, reports Times of India.
As per Karnataka Education Minister GT Devegowda the government would aim at conducting all Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) examinations online.
"As part of the efforts (on conducting all competitive exams online), we will conduct CET online from next year." TOI quoted the education minister saying.
"KEA and universities have the necessary infrastructure to conduct CET online, but they require software to implement the proposal," he added.
Conducting examinations online would reduce issues like question paper leaks and human error while printing papers and evaluating answers. Karnataka CET has three papers-Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Mathematics depending on the course of choice.
All India competitive exams like NEET and JEE for admissions to undergraduate courses and CAT conducted by IIMs for post-graduate courses are conducted online.
