Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa unveiled a mobile Covid testing booth, said Health Minister B Sriramulu on Thursday (16 April).

"Yediyurappa inaugurated Covid testing mobile booth at his home office. The mobile testing booth from now onwards will be available at all wards for testing," tweeted Sriramulu.

The booth is placed on an autorickshaw for easy mobility. These mobile booths would start working in all wards of the Bengaluru to collect throat swab samples of persons suspected with covid-19 infection.

Karnataka is battling coronavirus pandemic with a multi-dimensional approach so far, making it one of the most proactive states in the country. It has launched a host of measures to check the spread of the virus in the state.

On Wednesday, the state launched a new critical care support unit to monitor the progress of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units (ICUs). Calling it the first of its kind in the country, Minister for Medical Education, said this would link the ICUs of different hospitals across the state that are treating coronavirus patients on a single platform.
