Public Works Department (PWD) minister for Karnataka and chief minister H D Kumaraswamy’s brother, H D Revanna, travels from Holenarsipura in Hassan district to Bengaluru and back for work every day, says a Times of India report.

All this is courtesy the taxpayer, only for a very strange reason. As the grapevine suggests, he wants to avoid ‘bad luck’ as an astrologer has advised him not to sleep in his own house, in Banashankari in Bengaluru, as long as he is a minister, and seek government accommodation instead.

However, the government accommodation that Revanna reportedly wants, is not available at the moment. A bungalow, which he considers ‘lucky’ in the posh Kumara Park West, is currently being occupied by former minister HC Mahadevappa, who, according to law, has three months’ time to vacate.

Revanna is reportedly a staunch believer in astrology, despite his father and brother portraying a ‘secular’ image to the world.

He also reportedly has an unshakable belief in the auspiciousness of time and days, and does not plan any important work without due astrological considerations.

When journalists sought to confirm whether all this was indeed true, Revanna just said, “I am yet to be given a house in the city, so I have to travel up and down every day as I am elected from Holenarsipura.”

Sources are believed to have confirmed that Revanna wakes up at 5 am every day, performs pooja, and meets people of his constituency before leaving for Bengaluru.
