Senior BJP MLAs on Thursday (18 July) accused the Congress of deliberately delaying the Karnataka assembly proceedings in order to buy more time as discussion on trust votes continues, Firstpost has reported.

BJP MLA Jagadish Shettar accused the Congress of misusing the floor of the house and objected to former chief minister Siddaramaiah making a “lengthy” speech. He also urged the speaker to direct Congress legislatures to be more specific in their speeches.

Former BJP chief minister B S Yeddyurappa also demanded that the trust vote take place immediately by stressing that there is no need to have prolonged discussions. He added that Kumaraswamy has himself admitted that he does not have the required numbers to retain power.
