After similar reactions from several BJP members, the Congress party has also found the teaser of Kedarnath objectionable, saying the film violates the faith of crores of Hindus and has some scenes which should be immediately removed. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan-starrer is based in the backdrop of the Kedarnath flood tragedy.

"Inviting Bollywood stars to shoot here is a great way of tourism, but also the government should put all the norms in front of them and tell them about the do's and don't's. No one has the right to violate our beliefs. Chardham, especially Kedarnath, is the most important and people believe in it," Garima Dasani, an AICC member told ANI.

Miss Garima objected to the kissing scene and said that it played with the beliefs of Hindus. “We will send a letter to the Prime Minister and the board to find a solution to the problem," she added , as reported by Business Standard.

Ajendra Ajay who was part of the BJP’s state media team, had earlier written to Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of film certification, that despite being set against a tragedy, it made fun of Hindu sentiments and promoted Love Jihad.

"By setting a romantic love story against the backdrop of a huge tragedy that occurred at Kedarnath, a centre of faith for crores of Hindus, the filmmakers have shown great disrespect to the followers of the religion," Ajendra Ajay had said.
