Kochi Metro: KMRL To Complete Land Acquistion Of 4.75 Acres For Tripunithura Extension By May-End

The Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) would complete land acquisition for Tripunithura extension by May-end, Rail Analysis India reports. The acquisition would include a total of 2.75 acres of land for preparatory works and two acres of land for construction of two stations involving a total of 193 land parcels.

Commenting on the project Managing Director KMRL, APM Mohammad Hanish, said, “the district administration along with KMRL officials are working in tandem to complete the land acquisition process so that the preparatory works can be completed on time.”

The KMRL project of Tripunithura extension will be completed at the cost of Rs 123 crore and the tender process for selecting the civil contractor is in its final stages.

The extension will be constructed from Petta to SN Junction through viaduct and include two stations at Vadakkekotta and S N Junction and a two-lane bridge across the Panamkutty river.

L & T Infrastructure Engineering Ltd will be in charge of the design as a consultant. The project will be part of the Phase-2 construction that the KMRL is undertaking.
