In the history of Indian Railways, for the first time, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be used. Nearly 800 special trains are scheduled for departure. To monitor the crowd at railway stations, IBM Intelligent Video Analytics will be used. The adjoining areas near the railway stations will be under the scanner as well. To keep devotees informed about the train services, a new app called Kumbh Rail Seva will be launched soon.
Apart from using AI, CCTV cameras are being installed to keep an eye on the situation. LED screens that display information of arrival and departure and other relevant information will be set up. 5,000 Government Railway Police (GRP) will also be responsible for maintaining the law and order across ten railway stations.
Kumbh Mela will start from 15 January, 2019 and go on until 4 March, 2019 in Prayagraj. More than ten crore people are expected to visit the Kumbh Mela this time, making it one of the largest religious gathering on the planet.
Financial Express reported that new platforms, foot-over bridge and skywalks are being constructed to handle the crowd and de-congest as many places as possible.
