Ladakh Stand-Off: India And China’s Ninth Military Level Talks Last Over 11 Hours

India and China yesterday (24 January) held the ninth round of military-level talks to solve the ongoing tensions between the two nations at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) which have been brewing since May last year when Chinese forces took aggressive and expansionist moves in the Eastern Ladakh regions, reports Economic Times.
The latest meeting which was held after a gap of about two-and-a-half months lasted for 11 long hours and was held Moldo on the Chinese side of the LAC. The Corps Commander level meeting had begun at 10am in the morning and was led from the Indian side by Lt Gen PGK Menon who commands the Leh based 14 Corps of the Indian Army.
At the meeting, India is said to have maintained its stance and pushed for China to carry forward the process of disengagement. The nation has maintained that it wants disengagement to start simultaneously across all friction points and that no selective approach is acceptable to it.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that Indian Army chief General MM Naravane had said about two weeks back that the forces would hold ground as long as it takes to achieve "national goals and objectives".
