Learning Lessons: Bengaluru Police Gears Up For New Year Eve With12,000 Personnel, 250 Women Squads, 80 RPF Platoons

After arrests made by National Investigation Agency (NIA) across India, police in Bengaluru have taken a call to deploy 12,000 police personnel to tighten security during New Year celebrations. Few alerts have reportedly been provided by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), and about ten teams have been formed by the police that will monitor the outskirts of the city.
Commissioner T Suneel Kumar has prioritised the security of women and children during the celebrations. The city will see adequate security around shopping malls and central business district areas such as MG Road, Brigade Road, Indiranagar, Koramangala, UB City etc.
Apart from the 400 Cheetah bikes, newly inducted 911 bikes will be patrolling alongside 272 Hoysala cars. Pubs and restaurants have been given strict instructions to maintain safety of women visitors, Deccan Herald reported. An eye will be kept on cabs that offer services as well. Liquor will be available until 2 AM.
