Proscribed leftist terror organisation Communist Party of India (Maoist) has issued multiple official statements in support of the ongoing farmers' agitations on various Delhi borders, reports Times of India.

According to the report, the development has apparently confirmed the law enforcement agencies' suspicion of "Maoist infiltration" into the ongoing anti-Farm reform laws protests.

The CPI (Maoist) has reportedly compared the new farm laws to British-era Rowlatt Act, and directed its frontal organisations to continue fighting alongside the farmer fraternity.

In a statement issued on 30 January and attributed to CPI (Maoist) central committee spokesperson Abhay, the proscribed outfit accused the Central government of "dilly-dallying" on the demands of the farmers and trying to engineer a rift among those leading the agitation.

The outfit's women wing's functionary Ranita Hicchami also issued a statement committing her unit's support to "farmer brothers and sisters".

However, the authenticity of the statements attributed to the militant outfit is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, with the prospect of the Maoist organisations' involvement in the farmers' agitation, the security and intelligence agencies are now keeping tabs on the movement of other outfits such as the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army and the Revolutionary People's Committees.
