Marking an end to the multiple rounds of parleys and negotiations, AAP and Congress have decided to go solo in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, setting the stage for a triangular fight between Congress, BJP and AAP on Delhi's seven seats, all of which are presently held by BJP candidates.

The news was made public by AAP's Rajya Sabha MP and key negotiator Sanjay Singh on Wednesday evening (10 April 2019). The two parties could not agree on a seat sharing formula.

Singh said that BJP would have been defeated on 33 seats in toto (13 in Punjab, 10 in Haryana, seven in Delhi, two in Goa and one in Chandigarh) had the AAP and Congress fought together, reports Times of India.

Congress sources on the other hand alleged that AAP had become 'greedy' and was demanding that the pact be extended to Punjab, Haryana and Goa.

Congress us likely to announce its candidates for all seats in Delhi and Haryana on Thursday (11 April 2019) while AAP has already announced seven candidates for each seat of Delhi.
