With the Shri Ram Mandir 'Bhumi Pujan' (groundbreaking) ceremony slated to be organised on 5 August at Ayodhya, the Indian-American community in New York is planning to celebrate the historic moment, reports News On AIR.
According to the report, on 5 August, images of Lord Ram and 3D portraits of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be beamed across the giant billboards at the iconic Times Square in New York to celebrate the bhumi pujan.
Jadish Sewhani, prominent Indian-American community leader and president of the America India Public Affairs Committee, was quoted in the report as saying that arrangements were being made to celebrate the historic moment in New York on 5 August.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be participating in the Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan ceremony on 5 August at Ayodhya.
The celebration will begin from 8 am on 5 August and continue till 10 pm.
On the occasion, images of the words 'Jai Shri Ram' in Hindi and English, Lord Ram's portraits and videos, 3D portraits of the temple's design and architecture as well as pictures of the laying of the foundation stone by PM Modi will be displayed across several billboards.
The billboards are among the most striking and popular features of the Times Square, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Besides, the members of the Indian community will also gather at the Times Square on 5 August to celebrate the bhumi pujan ceremony and will also distribute sweets to each other.
