Lucknow, Ahmedabad Airport to Get World Class Infrastructure: AAI Seeks Bids To Manage Six Airports On PPP Basis

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is looking for bidders to operate its airports on the basis of 'per-passenger fee' and would finalise the bids on 28 February next year, Mint has reported.
The proposed airports include Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Mangalore, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
AAI, as part of an open international competitive bidding process, has sought bidders for carrying out operations, management and development of the six airports.
“Bids are invited for the project based on the Per-Passenger Fee for domestic passengers. The per-passenger fee for domestic passengers would be the criteria for appointment of the selected bidder,” Mint reported quoting one of the AAI tender documents.
The last date for submission of bids is 14 February and winning bidders would be finalised on 28 February.
The move to operate the six airports on a PPP basis is a part of initiatives to provide world-class infrastructure and services to stakeholders, according to AAI.
