The Madhya Pradesh government has imposed curfew in Bhopal and Jabalpur earlier today (24 March) to fight against the spread and threat of Covid-19. The move came soon after Shivraj Singh Chouhan assumed power as the state's chief minister.

There are so far six positive cases of Covid-19 in Jabalpur. There is one positive case in Bhopal. The total count in Madhya Pradesh of covid-19 positive cases is at seven.

Chouhan issued orders after a meeting held on Monday, where he also reviewed the current situation of Covid-19 and asked the authorities to ensure the supply of essential goods.

Times of India reported that in Bhopal, the state health department has taken the decision to mark the city's colonies as ‘safe’ or ‘hotspots’ after an assessment of the colonies with help from residents' welfare associations (RWA).

Jabalpur could be emerging as a hotspot of Cobvid-19 infections in the state.
