Madhya Pradesh: Nitin Gadkari Lays The Foundation Stone For 5.9-Km Flyover Project In Jabalpur

Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for a 5.9 km flyover project on 22 February (Friday) in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The flyover will run from Damoh Toll Plaza to Ranital Madan Mahal Chowk, Medical College Road. It is estimated to cost Rs 758.54 crore.

Similarly, on 6 January, Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for three National Highway projects tomorrow in Kamakhyanagar located in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha.

The highways will run for a total length of length 132 km and involve an expenditure of Rs 2345 crore. Also, three bypasses, one flyover, 19 vehicular underpasses, nine major and 39 minor bridges with 45 km of service roads will be constructed along the highways to reduce traffic congestion and ensure the safety of road users.

World’s Fastest Highway Developer

Speaking to Members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha as part of his budget address, Finance Minister (FM) Piyush Goyal on 1 February mentioned how under the current NDA administration, India had become the world’s fastest highway developer.

He said that while on the one hand, several projects in limbo were revived and completed, the government built highways at the rate of 27 km per day, making it fastest in the world.
