Congress President Rahul Gandhi, in the presence of TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has said that in order to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party, opposition parties will work together, Free Press Journal has reported.

Rahul Gandhi, in a bid to unite the opposition parties, met with the Andhra Pradesh CM. After the meeting, Rahul said that opposition parties will work to ensure that attacks on democratic institutions stop.

The Congress president is trying to forge a grand alliance to fight the BJP in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“It is very clear that corruption is taking place. Institutions that can investigate are being attacked… A proper inquiry on what all happened, where the money went and who did corruption… that is what I am pushing very aggressively. The nation wants to know this,” the Congress president said.

Naidu said that a discussion is on with all political parties and they are planning to meet on a common platform so that strategies can be chalked out.

The meeting between the two leaders comes at a time when seat-sharing talks are going on between the two parties for Assembly elections in Telangana on 7 December.
