The Maharashtra government is mulling a ban on flights and trains from Delhi amidst the spike in the COVID-19 cases in the capital.
As per a Livemint report, Delhi yesterday recorded 6,608 new coronavirus cases, with the infection tally reaching over 5.17 lakh, while 118 more fatalities during the same period pushed the death toll to 8,159.
Delhi witnessed a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases. On 28 October, the daily rise breached the 5,000-mark for the first time and on 11 November, it crossed the 8,000-mark.
This is one of the steps to curtail the spread of the deadly virus discussed by the Maharashtra government in a recent meeting in Mumbai.
Kumar, however, clarified that no decision has been taken so far on this.
Yesterday, Maharashtra's Covid-19 tally reached 17.7 lakh with the addition of 5,640 cases during the day, with the death toll reaching 46,511.
