Maharashtra, Haryana Assembly Elections 2019: Counting Of Votes Begins In Two States

The counting of the votes for the 21 October Maharashtra and Haryana assembly polls began on Thursday (24 October) morning amid tight security.

In Maharashtra, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena and the Opposition Congress-Nationalist Congress Party are the main parties in the fray for the 288 Assembly seats, besides Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Prakash Ambedkar's Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, the Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.


In Haryana, BJP and Congress are in the fray for the 90 Assembly seats of the state, where 68.31 per cent voting was recorded on 21 October.
