Maharashtra Worst Hit By Coronavirus In India: Reports 12 New Cases Taking Total Confirmed Cases To 31

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has rocked the State of Maharashtra which on Saturday (14 March) reported 12 new confirmed cases taking the total number of cases in the State to a whopping 31, reports Indian Express.

With the surge in the tally reported from Maharashtra on Saturday, it has turned into the worst hit State in the nation. To deal with the vitiating situation, the State Government has decreed a closure of all malls across the State, and also all the schools and colleges across the urban areas of the State till the end of March.

The closure of schools and colleges in the State's urban areas also applies to vocational and industrial training institutions, anganwadis and private coaching classes.

The State Government has already invoked the Epidemic Act, 1897 and announced the closure of all gymnasiums, movie halls, swimming pools and theatres in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur and Pimpri-Chinchwad till 31 March.

It should be noted that the positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Thane, Yavatmal, Raigad and Pimpri-Chinchwad. It should be noted that Pimpri-Chinchwad reported five confirmed cases on Saturday alone.
