Major Win Against Terror: UAE Extradites Mastermind Of 2017 Attack On CRPF Camp In Lethpora

In a major diplomatic win for India, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday (2 April 2019) secured the arrest of absconding Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist Nisar Ahmed Tantray who was deported to India from United Arab Emirates (UAE).
NIA investigations found him to be the main conspirator behind the December 2017 attack on a CRPF camp in Lethpora leading to martyrdom of five security personnel on the intervening night of 30-31 December 2019. Another accused in the Lethpora case, Fayaz Ahmad Magray was arrested by NIA in February 2019, around the same time when Nisar had fled to UAE on 1 February 2019.
The probe by NIA had revealed that the cowardly Lethpora attack was carried by three JeM terrorists identified as Fardeen Ahmed, Manzoor Baba and Abdul Shakoor who were killed by security forces after the attack. Fardeen and Manzoor were resident of Pulwama, while Abdul Shakoor was a Pakistani national.
Meanwhile, the UAE have been displaying unprecedented support in deportation of Indian economic and terror fugitives over the recent years. They sent back to India the infamous AugustaWestland bribery case accused Christian Michel, alleged defence middleman Deepak Talwar, along with several more terrorists including 1993 bomb blasts accused Farooq Takla.
