Making Hyderabad "Jealous": Telangana Govt To Build 33 Floor High And 2,000 Bed Super Speciality Hospital In Warangal

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) led Telangana state government has turned its focus on improving the state's public health infrastructure.
In his visit to Warangal city, CM KCR has laid the foundation stone for a new 2,000-bed multi-super speciality hospital, planned to be built with 33 floors in a spacious site of over 59 acres.
With over Rs 1,000 crore investment, the government will build the planned hospital with 35 departments on the premises of erstwhile Warangal Central Prison in the city's heart.
The Chief Minister performed 'bhumi pooja' on Monday (21 June) and participated in the special puja organised by around 50 Ruthwiks at the proposed site.
CM KCR also inaugurated the Integrated Collectorate Complex of Warangal (Urban) district and the new administration block of the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), reports The Times of India.
"Warangal should be developed as an education, industrial hub and the best medical centre, even people in Hyderabad should be jealous about it," chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said after inaugurating the integrated collectorate complex.
"This hospital will have 2,000 beds and 35 super specialty wings, apart from a helipad for an air-ambulance. A committee of the state government will visit Canada to study the public healthcare system and infrastructure, and a similar health system will be adopted in Telangana," KCR said.
CM said that four cities, namely Warangal on the East, Siddipet on the North, Nalgonda on the South, and Nizamabad on the Western front in the state, need to be developed to ease the pressure on capital Hyderabad.
