In an incident equally comic, a man has been arrested for posing as a CBI officer in order to raid is his former employer’s home in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, reports Times of India.

Trivinder Kumar, a resident of Muzaffarnagar used to work for Akash Goel who runs rice mill in Uttarakhand. On Saturday night, around 8 pm, Trivinder approached New Mandi police station and asked to raid Goel’s Vrindavan City residence. Dressed as a Sikh, Kumar had put on fake beard and pagdi. He also showed a forged CBI identity card and a search warrant for Goel. DSP Yogendra Singh said that upon this, two constables were provided to Kumar in order to raid Goel’s house.

When Kumar along with the constables reached Goel’s house, several neighbours gathered. Many of them found the behaviour of Kumar suspicious and raised alarm. Ultimately, someone from the crowd recognised Kumar’s voice and snatched his fake beard, exposing him.

According to the police, a case under Section 420, IPC has been registered against Kumar.
