In a major embarrassment for the Congress party, two of its Madhya Pradesh MLAs including the brother of Digvijaya Singh, Lakshman Singh have come out in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Times of India has reported.
Digvijaya Singh’s brother Lakhshman Singh who is an MLA from Chachoura had recently tweeted appealing people to stop politicising over CAA and in the same sentence added that not even Muslims are asking to put a stop to it.
“Stop politics on citizenship law. Now even Muslims are asking to stop it. They are asking to make arrangements for their livelihood. If you pull the string too much, it will break”, Singh said in a tweet.
He was supported by another Congress MLA Hardeep Singh Dang who said that there is nothing wrong in giving citizenship to sad depraved minorities of Pakistan.
