Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train To Be Based On Japan’s E5 Shinkansen Technology To Ensure Stellar Safety Record

In a bid to ensure speed and safety at the same time, the Indian bullet train project, linking Mumbai to Ahmedabad, will be developed on the technology of the Japan’s E5 Shinkansen bullet train type, Financial Express has reported.
According to the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), Japan’s E5 Shinkansen series is famous around the world for holding a zero-fatality record. The NHSRCL is the executing agency of the Indian bullet train project.
Following the similar technology that is being used in the Japan, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is also expected to excel not only in speed but safety also. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will operate at a speed on 320 kmph.
As per the report, several modern features will be incorporated in the bullet train. Besides, the train will have multi-purpose rooms for the needs of feeding mothers and patients.
Total length of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor is going to be 508.17 km, of which 348.04 km will fall in Gujarat, 155.76 km will be in Maharashtra and 4.3 km in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
The bullet train corridor, foundation stone of which was laid in 2017 and is expected to be operational by 2022-23, will have a total of 12 railway stations, namely Mumbai, Vapi, Thane, Boisar, Virar, Vadodara, Sabarmati, Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora and Ahmedabad.
