Mumbai Metro Gets A Pal: Partners With Payments Company PayPal To Provide Online Smart Card Recharge Facility

Payments company PayPal, has announced a partnership with Mumbai Metro for online recharge payments, thus entering into the mass transit sector, Firstpost has reported.
Thus commuters can now recharge their smart cards online aided by PayPal’s security mechanism. The facility is also available on the mobile, and commuters can recharge their smart cards from their internet-enabled mobile phones.
Devendra Trivedi, Director, Channel Partnerships, PayPal India says, “Just as Mumbai Metro’s rapid transit system is designed to make the lives of Mumbaikars easier by decongesting the city, PayPal’s globally-trusted payment platform is designed to make the lives of customers easier by offering a seamless and safe payment experience”.
“PayPal's integration with Mumbai Metro payment network mirrors the agility of the transit system and marks our entry into the mass transit sector, giving commuters the ease of a seamless and safe payment experience”, he continued.
Since the beginning, Reliance Infrastructure has supplemented Mumbai Metro, with latest upgrades such as digital money during the demonetisation.
An MMOPL spokesperson said that they were confident of a symbiotic relationship and assured the commuters of world-class service.
