Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Saturday (7 September) morning reached the headquarters of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru and lauded the courageous and ambitious efforts of the nation's top-notch space scientists and engineers.
Lauding the ISRO's Chairman Dr K Sivan, Mission Director Ritu Karidhal and the entire team behind Chandrayaan-2, PM Modi told the visibly upset team that the nation stands with them and that it marks a moment when the nation stands tall, reports Mint.
PM Modi added, "As important as the final result is the journey & the effort. I can proudly say that the effort was worth it & so was the journey. Our team worked hard, travelled far & those teachings will always remain with us. The learnings from today will make us stronger and better."
The ISRO successfully launched the orbiter of the Chandrayaan-mission which shall help the ace space organisation of India garner significant insights about the pole region of the moon. However, ISRO lost communication with the lander Vikram just 2.1 km from the destination.
