Candidates appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) or the National Eligibility Test (NET) will now be able to practice for these exams using an official app released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), an organisation that conducts entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions, NDTV has reported.

According to the report, the NTA has launched a ‘mobile app’ through which students can practice or take mock tests on their smartphones.

The agency recently conducted two competitive exams, the first being the NET in December 2018 and second was the first edition of JEE Main 2019 in January. The second edition of the JEE Main 2019, registration for which will begin next week, will be conducted in April.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Union Minister of State for HRD, Satyapal Singh, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, informed that in order to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to lack of resources, NTA has established a network of more than 4,000 Test Practice Centres (TPCs) to acquaint aspirants, especially those from rural areas, with Computer Based Tests (CBTs).

The minister said that students across the country can register at the NTA website or ‘NTA Students App’ for visiting the TPCs. He added that all these services are provided free of cost.

So far, more than 100,000 students have registered at these TPCs and more than one crore students have benefited from these app and web services, he said.
