Navies Of India And Oman To Hold 12th ‘Naseem Al Bahr’ Maritime Exercise Next Month

Bolstering the already strengthening strategic ties between India and Oman, the two nations are set to conduct the 12th edition of the bilateral maritime exercise 'Naseem Al Bahr' in the Arabian Sea, reports Financial Express.
The major naval exercise will be conducted next month, with the intention to facilitate the goal of the two nations to establish inter-operability between the two naval forces and enhance security in the open waters. It should be noted though that the final dates to hold the exercise have not yet been announced.
The first-ever Naseem Al Bahr exercise between the two nations took place in 1993, and the 12th edition of the exercise will mark 26 years of cooperation and relationship between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman.
It should be noted that Oman is first nation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) which started to conduct bilateral maritime and naval exercises with India. Also, Oman has been extending major support to the Indian Navy's anti-piracy missions and operations since 2008.
