Led by Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli, under whose leadership India-Nepal bilateral ties witnessed major blows in the recent past, Nepal is on a spree to build border observation posts (BOP) along the 275 kilometres-long Indo-Nepalese border, reports The Times of India.

Yesterday (29 September), Nepal erected a BOP at Tatopani along the border. The day before, it had erected a BOP at Rupaligad in its Dadelhura district. Earlier on Sunday, a BOP had also been erected in Datu in its Darchula district.

In total, three new BOPs have been erected by Nepal over the past three days.

With the new BOPs, the total count of such posts built by Nepal along the border has now surged to 15.

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that Nepal's Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa had a few days ago laid the foundation stone of the battalion headquarters of the APF in Chhangru village which borders Kalapani.

This development comes at a time when China has occupied Nepalese territory along the Tibet-Nepal border. The Communist Party government in Kathmandu, experts say, has been trying to burry the issue while is deliberately ratcheting up tension with India for domestic political gains.
