In yet another setback to the beleaguered ruling faction of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Delhi Police have a registered a case against the party deputy general secretary T T V Dinakaran following a compliant that he was trying to bribe and influence the Election Commission of India proceedings on the 'Two Leave' symbol.

Two AIADMK factions, one led by jailed leader V K Sasikala and another led by former chief minister O Panneerselvam, were slated to argue their cases for gaining control over the popular 'Two Leaves' symbol before the Election Commission in New Delhi. The commission is also expected to rule if the appointment of Sasikala as general secretary of the party was in accordance with the party's internal rules and regulations.

Sukesh Chandrasekhar, a Tamil Nadu middleman involved in this case, was arrested by the Delhi Police and cash worth Rs 1.5 crore in his possession was seized. He allegedly told Dinakaran that AIADMK's symbol would go to his camp if Rs 60 crore were paid. During the interrogation, Chandrasekhar revealed that the cash was received from Dinakaran and was meant to be paid to another middleman Satish Chandra, who had promised to ensure that the party’s now frozen election commission symbol will be allocated to Sasikala faction. Delhi Police have taken Chandra into custody and seized Rs 30 lakh in cash from him.
