Newly appointed Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi has said that the countries around the world should help each other for "better survival" of human beings amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The minister also highlighted India's policy of 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam' (World Is One Family) and called for more cooperation among the nations around the world.

In an interview with DNA, Lekhi also hit out at China without taking names and said, "some people have the expertise of making the viruses and others have the expertise of making vaccines".

Lekhi, who is also the MoS for Culture, said that India believes in the "principle of Vasudev Kutumbakam and the world is one big family and to deal with global pandemic to help people around, to help India also in the same process, we need to be with each other and this kind of interdependence will lead to the better survival of the human beings".

"Else we're all doomed, not just as the world but as a race," she said.
