The Government of India has invited the private sector to participate in accelerating the vaccination drive from 1 May. E-pharmacies too plan to tap the opportunities in the evolving private Covid-19 vaccine market.

Newbie unicorn, e-pharmacy platform PharmEasy is gearing up to vaccinate over three crore people via its 5,000 partner centres across India in the coming quarters, reports Business Today.

The company's co-founder Dharmil Sheth said, "Our vaccination drive aims to provide ease of access to vaccination which can help us to achieve herd immunity at the earliest. Amid the rising COVID-19 cases in the second wave, we wanted to contribute our bit in breaking the chain by setting up vaccination camps and centres to facilitate this."

The company said that the individuals, companies, old age homes et cetera will have to register with the e-pharmacy website to avail its vaccination drive. Once it begins to receive vaccine supplies, it would contact those who would have registered with it regarding the information on location, timings, and price.

The company also added that the brand of the vaccine (like Covishield, Covaxin, or Sputnik V et cetera) being administered will depend on the availability. Also, the price of each dose of vaccine will be in tune with what the manufacturers decide.

PharmEasy was founded in 2015 in Mumbai by Sheth along with Dhaval Shah.
