Nitish Kumar Decides To Step Out Of NDA Boat: JD(U) To Contest Upcoming Assembly Elections In Four States Alone

Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United), an ally of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), decided to contest Assembly elections in four States on its own, reports The Hindu.
"The party took the decision to contest the upcoming Assembly polls in four States on its own", JD(U) Chief General Secretary K.C. Tyagi said.
At its national executive meeting in Patna today (9 June), the party asked its state presidents of Delhi, Jharkhand, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir to identify which seats to contest and start preparing for the upcoming assembly elections.
High on its good performance in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, JD(U) is planning to garner enough seats to become a national party.
Party's national vice-president Prashant Kishor was present at the meeting but refused to explain his position regarding working for West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
