The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday (20 July) expressed confidence that the resolution of Kashmir issue was on the cards and that no power on the earth could stop it, reports The Indian Express.
“Resolution of Kashmir issue is bound to take place and no power on earth can stop it,” the defence minister said. Furthering his confident statement, Singh added, “if not through talks, then how, we know it.”
Singh was in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, visiting the Kargil War Memorial in Dras sector to pay his tributes to the martyred soldiers who fought in the Kargil conflict and won India a victory against belligerent adversary Pakistan.
During his visit to state, Singh also inaugurated two bridges in the Kathua and Basantar districts of the state. The 1,000 meters long bridge, constructed in Kathua at a cost of Rs 50 crore is the longest ever bridge constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) so far.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
