North East Says Yes To NDA: Assam, Arunachal, Tripura Steadfastly Behind BJP While Congress Leads In Meghalaya

Among the seven sisters, Manipur has two constituencies. Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in one while Naga People’s Front (NPF) is leading in the other one. BJP is maintaining a vote share of 31 per cent (highest) while Congress and NPF both are hovering around 25 per cent vote share.

In Arunachal Pradesh, BJP seems to be ruling the roost with close to 60 per cent vote share, leading in both constituencies of the state. Congress is the distant second with around 18 per cent vote share.

In Meghalaya, Congress maintains a vote share close to 50 per cent while National People’s Party is a distant second with 24 per cent vote share. Both are leading in one seat each out of total two constituencies in the state. BJP is close to 7 per cent vote share currently in the Christian-dominated state.

In Mizoram, the lone constituency is dominated by Mizo National Front, a member of NDA. The party maintains a vote share close to 45 per cent, while BJP maintains a vote share close to 6 per cent.

The sole constituency in Nagaland is dominated by Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, also an ally of NDA, with 52 per cent vote share while Congress comes second with around 45 per cent vote share.

In Sikkim, local parties are dominating the scene with the lone constituency being led by Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, an ally of NDA, with close to 48 per cent votes. Sikkim Democratic Front comes second with around 42 per cent vote share. BJP maintains a vote share close to 5 per cent.

Tripura, a Left bastion tactfully wrested by BJP in last assembly elections continues to be loyal to the ruling party. The saffron party is leading in both the constituencies of the state with close to 48 per cent vote share. Congress comes second with around 24 per cent vote share while CPM is the distant third with close to 17 per cent vote share.
