North Korea on Saturday (10 October) unveiled a previously unveiled intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at an unprecedented predawn military parade, reports Livemint.

While Open Nuclear network's deputy director Melissa Hanham has called the missile a 'monster', analysts have opined that the missile would be one of the largest road-mobile ICBMs in the world if it is made operational by North Korean regime.

During the parade which showcased the nation's long-range weapons for the first time in two years, the ICBM was seen on a transporter vehicle with 11 axles. North Korea also displayed Hwasong-15, which is the longest-range missile ever tested by the regime.

The development gains significance as the parade featured North Korea's ballistic missiles for the first time since Kim Jong Un had initiated meetings with international leaders including the United States (US) President Donald Trump in 2018.

Meanwhile, during the parade, he also delivered a speech for about half an hour and rued about international sanctions, typhoons and the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented him from delivering on the promises of economic progress.
