No Change To 14 November GSAT-29 Launch But ISRO Awaits With Bated Breath As Gaja Threat Looms

Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) scheduled launch of GSAT-29 on 14 November does not have any changes despite threats of a cyclone in the region, Bangalore Mirror has reported.
Scientists said that the satellite would be launched on schedule if the weather does not play spoilsport. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued warnings over Cyclone Gaja. Heavy rainfall due to the cyclone could potentially disrupt the launch.
GSAT-29 will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on GSLV MK3-D2 after a delay of one month. A new ISRO update reveals that the GSLV MK3-D2 has been relocated to the second launch pad.
With the launch of the new satellite, the Digital India vision is set to get a major push. The mission aims at bridging the existing digital divide between rural and urban areas through Village Resource Centres (VRC). The spacecraft will be placed in the lower orbit of the earth in a range of about 400 km.
