19 Congress MLAs holding their resignation letters in Bengaluru (@ANI/Twitter)
Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Lakshman Singh who is also the brother of senior party leader Digvijaya Singh signalled that the time is up for the Kamal Nath government in the state.
He was quoted by ANI as saying that the Congress party should now accept the situation and be ready to sit in the opposition. He added that a lot of number crunching should not be required over this scenario and expressed confidence that the Congress will again form the government in the future.
This statement by Lakshman Singh came after 20 Congress MLAs loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia sent their resignation letters to the Madhya Pradesh speaker. This has reduced the Kamal Nath government into a minority, thereby clearing the part for the BJP to stake a claim.

Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
