The first-of-its-kind public policy school that aims to focus on the design and management of public institutions in India was inaugurated by the eminent bureaucrat, NK Singh earlier this week, as reported by BusinessWeek. NK Singh is the chairman of the high-powered constitutional body, the Fifteenth Finance Commission and a former member of the Rajya Sabha.
The school, which aims to provide policy leaders with the skills necessary to navigate the complex society such as India’s, will be located in New Delhi. It will provide a Master’s equivalent program that will run for a year and integrate theory, perspectives and best-practices of public policy from around the world. The course will also include lessons on technical, managerial and leadership skills.
While the inaugural address was imparted by Mr Singh, the keynote address was delivered by Gurcharan Das, a renowned public intellectual and author of the critically acclaimed book, India Unbound.
Though the first batch of students will only arrive at the institute in August 2019, ISPP has already garnered support from organisations like Deloitte, Uber, PwC, Twitter, Dasra, Skill India, GMR Group, Samhita and Manipal Education.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
