National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday arrived at Delhi’s Seelampur for an on spot inspection of the area. He is expected to be briefed about the situation in the region from the on duty officials, India Today has reported.
After meeting top-officials Doval left to review the security situation in Northeast Delhi.
As per journalist Raj Shekhar Jha, a big cleanup is expected throughout the night and if everything goes according to plan, normalcy will return in the region by tomorrow.
He added that the newly appointed Delhi Police Special Commissioner (Law and Order) has already taken charge of his duties.
Also present in the meeting called at DCP Northeast office was Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik.
Earlier in the evening the Delhi police had issued shoot at sight orders in Northeast Delhi to quell the large scale violence and rioting which had plagued the region.
