Over 1.82 Crore COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Still Available With States, UTs: Health Ministry

Over 1.82 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories (UTs) to be administered, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday (16 June).

In a statement, the ministry said that the Centre has so far provided, both through the free of cost category and through direct state procurement category, more than 27.28 crore (27,28,31,900) COVID-19 vaccine doses to states and UTs so far.

"Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 25,45,45,692 doses (as per data available at 8 am today)," the Health Ministry said.

More than 1.82 crore (1,82,86,208) COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered, it added.

According to the ministry, under the 'Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination', implementation of which started from 1 May, every month 50 per cent of the total Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any manufacturer would be procured by the Centre and will be supplied free of cost to states and UTs.
