Close on the heels of the heavy exchange of fire between the Indian and Pakistan armies along the Line of Control, Pakistan’s air force chief Marshal Sohail Aman has warned India against escalating the dispute over Kashmir into a full-scale war, Mint reported today (24 November).
Yesterday, Pakistan Army said Indian firing across the LoC had led to the deaths of 12 civilians and three soldiers.
Pakistani troops will “know full well how to deal with them,” said Aman in the scenario that India didn’t show restraint.
After the death of three Indian soldiers, and the mutilation of a soldier’s body, India had decided to inflict “heavy retribution” upon Pakistan. In India’s counter offensive, both civilians and soldiers were reportedly killed due to the firing.
As reported earlier, there have been a whopping 286 incidents of firing and shelling along the LoC and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani troops that have resulted in the death of 26 people, including 14 security personnel, since the surgical strike on terrorist launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on 29 September.
