Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has said that a real leader responds to any given situation by taking a U-turn in position or changing strategies, if needed, The Dawn has reported.
“A leader who does not take timely U-turns is not a real leader,” Khan was quoted speaking to media at the PMO. “The first 100 days of any government would determine its direction and policies,” he added.
“Leaders must always be ready to take U-turns according to the requirements of their duties,” the PM added. He recalled the fate of Hitler and Napoleon in his U-turn statement.
Khan is often named by the Opposition as the 'master of U-turns'. However, a senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Syed Khursheed Shah, said Khan had called himself Hitler in his U-turn remarks.
Khan assured that his government would soon present a comprehensive plan for eliminating poverty, provide better education and healthcare among other reforms.
He rejected Pakistan's status as a ‘Third World country’ despite obtaining huge foreign loans in the past. “We do not know the amount of resources our country has,” Khan maintained.
Khan slammed previous rulers for intentionally weakening state institutions and making them unaccountable for their actions.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
