Parle To Donate 3 Crore Parle-G Biscuits For The Needy During 21 Day Lockdown In India

Biscuit manufacturing giant Parle Products announced on Wednesday (25 March) that it will donate 3 crore Parle-G products for the needy during the 21 day nationwide lockdown, Press Trust of India has reported.
The company will coordinate with government agencies regarding the distribution. The company informed that it is currently manufacturing products at 50 per cent capacity but is working hard to ensure that there is no shortfall.
The company plans to donate 1 crore biscuits per week during the three week lockdown. The company added that it is also working with the government to ensure that people do not go hungry due to their loss in livelihood.
“We are also looking at ensuring that those who need food right now -- there will be many people whose livelihood will be hampered, we will work very closely with the government to ensure that they don''t go hungry”, a senior Parle official was quoted as saying.
