Former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief Vikram Sood has asserted that peace talks with Pakistan are futile as the country considers India its enemy by default, PTI has reported.

Sood was speaking at the launch of his book, ”The Unending Game: A Former R&AW Chief's Insights into Espionage”. This book is said to provide insights into intelligence gathering and its importance in securing and advancing national interests. Union Minister Smriti Irani also attended the event.

Sood also took on the Pakistani Army which he claimed is using Kashmir as an excuse to remain in their country’s control. He also claimed that the army is the largest corporate force in Pakistan which owns land, properties and factories.

While speaking on the subject of RAW, Sood underlined the major difference between the Indian intelligence agency and Pakistan’s ISI. Sood claimed that RAW is a service provider to policy-makers but ISI - the clandestine core of their army, is one of the drivers of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
