PM Modi Sets Up Economic Advisory Council, To Be Headed By Bibek Debroy

Member of the NITI Aayog Bibek Debroy will head the Economic Advisory Council constituted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The council will work on analysing issues – economic or otherwise – referred to it by the Prime Minister and will advise him on it.
The council will also have three part-time members - Surjit Bhalla, Rathin Roy, Ashima Goyal. Principal Advisor of the NITI Aayog Ratan Watal has been appointed as Member-Secretary of the council.
Along with this, the council will address issues of macroecnomic importance and may also advise the PM suo-motu.
