Former film star and current president of Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan is set to approach FBI, the US Investigation Agency, seeking prosecution of KV Rao, the MD of Kakinada Sea Ports Ltd, reports Hans India.
Rao, who has US citizenship and is residing in the US is accused of illegally digging Hope Island sand for the one-kilometre area.
Fondly called as ‘Power Star’ by his fans, Mr Kalyan was addressing a media conference on Thursday afternoon in Kakinada. He said that the sand mining was causing negative impact on the environment and adversely effecting the livelihood of fisherfolk.
He accused CM Chandra Babu Naidu of gifting the Kakinada Deep Water Port (KDWP) to the company betraying the interests of State and livelihood of fisherfolk and environment for amassing enormous wealth.
Pavan Kalyan is a former star of Telugu film industry. Known for his power-packed histrionics and massive fan base, he recently exit movies and formed Jana Sena Party that supported BJP in 2014 later rifting with it after the row concerning Special Status to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
