Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (12 May) in his address the nation expressed his condolences to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and said that while the whole world is combating this unprecedented health crisis, it is imperative to both save oneself and progress at the same time.
The Prime Minister said that India needs to strengthen its pledge in combating the virus. He added that it is both the dream and responsibility of us Indians to make 21st Century - India’s century. The Prime Minister said that India needs to become self-reliance to achieve this ambitious goal.
Prime Minister Modi have the example of India’s PPE manufacturing success wherein India has gone from producing zero to 2 lakh PPE kits per day. This was described as turning an adversary into an opportunity.
The Prime Minister said that India has always professed the message of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam and India keeps the whole world in mind while talking about self-reliance.
Thus, Prime Minister Modi said that the world too now believes in India’s ability and promised that the country will make the best products in the world.
As per Prime Minister Modi the goal of self-reliance stands tall on five pillars.
